What is an Ex (hazardous area) inspection?
A standard-based check that electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres is still selected, installed and maintained so it cannot ignite the atmosphere. See Ex inspection.
What are the visual, close and detailed grades?

How often is inspection needed?
By risk and condition, with the interval reviewed and generally not exceeding three years; harsher environments justify shorter intervals or sampling.
Do you repair the faults you find?
Yes — I help you close them out correctly: repairs to IEC 60079-19 with manufacturer-approved methods and parts, like-for-like replacement of certified components where that is the cleanest fix (restoring integrity), and coordination with the OEM or an authorised facility where a job needs it.
ATEX, IECEx & CompEx
What is the difference between ATEX and IECEx?
ATEX is EU law; IECEx is a voluntary international scheme; both use the IEC 60079 standards. See IECEx vs ATEX.
What does an Ex marking mean?
It states where equipment may be used — group, category, protection type, gas group and temperature class. See reading Ex markings.
What is CompEx?

What is a hazardous area?
